Padmanabha Nagar’s 5th Street is coming apart

Padmanabha Nagar’s 5th Street is more than just a street; it is a bypass road for motorists who want to take a short cut to work, out of or into Adyar’s neighborhoods.

Motorists who reside in Thiruvanmiyur and beyond take this street to read Adyar central; one can imagine the traffic during morning and evening peak hours.

Result – many parts of the road is coming apart.

The area outside Prestige store, at some ends of 5th Street and at the Adyar Post Office junction. At places, two layers of this street have come off and craters are forming following the recent rains.

But for the motorists using the short cut, it just does not matter.
